Experience Booklet

OVERVIEW

Small businesses are the beating hearts of communities. Full of culture, dreams and personality, they serve as essential gathering places for neighbors and symbolize a city’s possibilities. The Experience Booklet taps into that sentiment in a very physical way. In its simplest form, it’s a coupon book. Yet, after a few adventures, the Experience Booklet quickly evolves into a passport full of memories.

Each page invites users to venture out to a local business and redeem a one-time discount at participating locations. Small businesses can join for free, benefit from creative marketing and become a part of a unified movement to support their communities. When redeemed, the business validates the page with a stamp — adding to the passport theme — and offers one more physical touchpoint for guests.

We live in a digital world where the magic of physical experiences is being replaced by screens. While there’s something to be said about the ease of technology, people are hungry for hands-on interactions. We see this in the resurgence of vinyl, 90’s collectible and the explosive travel boom following years of social distancing.

It’s for these reasons and more that the Experience Booklet has to be a physical copy. Providing users with a literal touchpoint evokes emotion that can’t be replicated online, and provides one more opportunity for brands to tell their stories in unique ways. It also emanates a sense of importance. Like a real passport, this booklet holds value, and thus, users are more likely to remember the book and brands within.

OUTCOME

Experience Booklet has been a project that has continued to evolve and grow over the past 4 years. It started as a simple coupon book designed to support small businesses in a particular city, but has since expanded to 3 markets - Nashville, Kansas City, and Portland. In addition to providing a platform for small businesses to reach new customers, Experience Booklet has also developed relationships with influencers and organized various events and activities, including giveaways, scavenger hunts, and art projects. Throughout its growth, Experience Booklet has remained committed to collaborating with small businesses and supporting them in their endeavors. As the project moves into new ownership, it is hoped that it will continue to thrive and make a positive impact in the local community.
